Oh man you are hitting the nail on the head!!! Sister, I wish so many more people saw stewardship as heart posture first. What they see is a never ending list— thus your mention of contentment.

This is exactly why I’m diving in on this topic here. I’m slow to my publishing because I’m stewarding my time, my relationships and opportunities in a way that feels wise from the Holy Spirit’s prompting. But I can’t wait to write some more on this too!

Thank you so so much!! It’s not a fun lesson that God teaches you at first, but the benefits you reap as you practice it grow more and more! I love seeing people talking about this on here because I don’t really find many people talking about it on other platforms! Can’t wait to read more of your stuff on this topic!

Fav line…”I feel like I need an old tobacco pipe and rocking chair just thinking of the acceleration of social media and what it used to be”. Hilarious imagery! 😂

Great read and I love that you are a fellow resale shopper! Our home is probably 90% resale and I LOVE the sanctuary of peace and togetherness that we have been able to create.

Lovely read Sarah! I think this ties in with my newsletter from last week about slowing living. We are always trying to replicate and achieve an aesthetic that is portrayed online but we all have these moments in our own lives but miss them. Its not about changing things but about changing the way we see things. Slowing down enough to be intentional and content within our own lives instead of trying to replicate someone else's. 🌸

Yes, it does! I have been slowly drafting this article over the last few weeks since it’s tied closely to the podcast episode I dropped at the beginning of this month and then when I read your article, it just lit the fire in me again! When I read your article, I had actually just finished drafting this and scheduling it to go live today and I thought the timing of it was so great!

Haha I love it when things all come together like that! Only God!

This was such a good read! I always like to say that if you look for God, you will find Him--even in the oddest places. For me, it is faith in fortune cookies, for you it is in the every day, and I LOVE that!

Thank you so much!!

Love this, Sarah! Contentment and stewardship are areas God has been really putting on my heart lately. This spoke to me so much! You captured it so well when you said, "When you talk about romanticizing life, faith, and motherhood, I think people often get the misconception that it’s about an idealized version of a life you are aspiring to, rather than being inspired to see your life as ideal right now." I'm definitely going to be keeping that reframe in mind!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond! I love so much that it resonates with you!!

I love the look deeper here at contentment and stewardship as the biblical practices that help us “romanticize life” more. I’ve been on a journey of learning to find contentment amidst disappointment and waiting in the last year or two, but I hadn’t considered how stewardship goes hand in hand with that!

Love that you’re on that journey too! A big part of being content for me for the stewardship aspect and I’m glad I could help someone else from my experience!
