This is so good! A few years ago I read Tony Reinke’s book 12 Ways Your Phone is Changing You. It completely changed my view of social media and opened my eyes to how God can use it for His good purposes and to spread the gospel! 💞

Oh I need to read that!

Such a good perspective. I’ve taken a big step back from Instagram this year but am very active (clearly) on Substack. This works for me in this season, but it’s okay if that shifts in the future!

Exactly! It’s not about extremes !

Very interesting perspective of how much being off of social media can become a thing of pride. I think it also an element of my conviction should be yours as well. The belief that because I am doing something and it is making me feel good, you should do it too.

Yes! And that can happen really with anything. Alcohol, junk food, even dietary habits like keto or veganism. As someone who posts about slower and softer rhythms of living, I think a lot of the things I have seen on this platform in particular is the demonization of social media and people going beyond just sharing their experiences and speaking about things without the presence of nuance.

This was the exact encouragement I needed today as I’ve struggled with the desire to leave social media but know the good that it can do as well when used correctly. Thank you for sharing your heart! There are creatives out there who need to hear this as an encouragement to keep sharing their creativity for Christ.

That makes my heart happy!
